Abrams, on ‘The Last Jedi’ article And now for the big news: ‘Downton Abbey’ star Peter Dinklage says he’s “thrilled” to be a part of the next wave of ‘Punisher’ movies, saying he’s a “huge fan.”
The actor was one of the most vocal voices for the upcoming films, and even joked about his involvement with the series, tweeting that the next “Downtons” is “all about us.”
Dinklages new role will be in a role in 2019’s “Punishers,” which will be directed by the late John Carpenter, and stars Jamie Foxx and Tom Hardy.
He’ll play a “sneaky guy” who’s been sent on a mission by a “dangerous and nefarious” boss.
Dinkls involvement comes as Downton, “is going through a huge reboot,” according to the New York Times.
He told the Times he’d love to play one of “Davos’s most notorious men” — the infamous Boss of Davos, who “is a real fan favorite.”
He told the NYT he would love to see Downtons “get a little more modern.”
He also teased his involvement in the series.
“I’d love a role,” he said.
“I’d be really interested to be the villain.”
“Punishing” star Tom Hardy has said he’d like to appear in the next installment, which will follow the adventures of “the Punisher.”
He told CNN that he’d be “the perfect person” to play the Punisher.
“There are many people who could take on that role, and there are many who could do it better than I can,” he added.
Daredevil star Wilson Fisk also said he would like to play “the new boss.”
“I want to be Punisher,” Fisk said.
The Punisher has long been a favorite of Marvel Comics fans, who have long wanted to see him return to action, with a spinoff series set to debut sometime in 2019.
Dinkles involvement in that project is not yet known.
