KITCHITI, Ont.
— Kitchen gadgets like the microwave can be handy for cooking up dinner, but if you’re looking to get out and about, a little more time is needed to make the meal you want.
The Kitchen Gadgets Association of Canada says in an annual survey of about 2,500 people, the microwave is one of the least popular household items.
“The microwave is not only more time consuming but is less convenient to use and not as effective at cooking,” the association says in its 2017 report.
That means you’ll need to invest more time in preparing your meal.
In a survey of 3,300 people, nearly half of respondents said the microwave was more important than food in preparing their meal.
“It was actually the microwave that got us to make our first family dinner,” said one respondent.
It was only in the past decade that the microwave has become more popular, with a majority of respondents saying they wanted a microwave for cooking.
This means the microwave could become the key to saving money on food.
A microwave is more portable than an electric kettle and comes with a convenient handle, a dishwasher and other gadgets.
“I think the microwave’s biggest selling point is it’s easy to take, easy to use, it’s inexpensive and that’s what people want,” said Laura Hutton of The Kitchen Gadours Association of Ottawa.
And it’s a microwave that you can use with all kinds of appliances like dishwashers, ovens and gas stoves.
The microwave also comes with many benefits.
With an oven or a gas stove, you can cook food by placing it into the microwave and cooking it for a short time.
You can also use the appliance to cook soups, stews, starchy vegetables, meats and seafood.
If you’re going to go out, the only real downside to using the microwave are the occasional sparks.
But for those who are just looking to make dinner, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, according to the association.
As long as you’re getting your food from home, it could be a great way to save money.
